These terms apply when you book a session with Ellis Hart Psychology, and booking a session means you accept them. If anything here is unclear, ask me on the free call before you book. That is what the call is for.
Who I am
Ellis Hart Psychology is a private practice run by Ellis Hart, a practitioner psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), registration number [PYL00000]. Sessions take place in Clifton, Bristol, and online across the UK.
Sessions and fees
The first 15-minute call is free and carries no obligation. Sessions after that last 50 minutes and cost £85, payable [by bank transfer within 48 hours of each session].
Fees are reviewed once a year, with at least [30 days] notice of any change.
Reduced-fee places are sometimes available. Ask on the free call; you will not be asked to justify it in detail.
Receipts for insurers or employers are available on request.
Cancelling or rearranging
If you cancel or rearrange with at least [48 hours] notice, there is no charge. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed, are charged in full, unless I can offer you another time in the same week.
If I need to cancel, I will give you as much notice as I can, and you will never be charged for it.
Online sessions
Online sessions take place on [a secure video platform]. Please join from somewhere private where you will not be overheard. If the connection drops, I will call you on the number you have given me.
Confidentiality, and its limits
What you say in sessions stays between us. There are a small number of situations where I may need to share information without your agreement: if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, if a child or vulnerable adult is at risk, or if a court orders it. Wherever it is safe to, I will talk to you first.
Like all practitioner psychologists, I have regular clinical supervision. Anything discussed there is anonymised.
I am not an emergency service
I do not offer crisis support and I do not monitor messages outside working hours. If you are not safe, call 999, or use the numbers on the Get help now page.
Ending therapy
You can stop at any time, for any reason, and you do not owe me an explanation. I would usually suggest one last session to close things properly, but that is your choice. If I think another service would suit you better, I will say so and help you find it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@ellishart.co.uk. I will reply within one month.
If something goes wrong
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell me first; most things can be put right in a conversation. If that does not resolve it, you can raise a concern with the HCPC, which regulates practitioner psychologists.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will change too, and current clients will hear from me before the new terms apply to them. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
